TubeAI plans the video. Autotube makes it.

TubeAI is a YouTube research and strategy tool: outlier search, ideas, scripts, thumbnails. It makes no video. Autotube proposes titles from your channel's data, then produces the whole thing.

Which one to buy.

TubeAI: YouTube outlier research first, with scripts at the end of it. Best for: A creator who is losing to the wrong topics rather than to the wrong production, and wants the data before anything else.

TubeAI makes no video. That is the fact the rest of this page hangs on, and it is not a criticism — research is the product, and the pipeline deliberately ends at a script and a thumbnail. If your channel is losing because you are covering the wrong topics, TubeAI is looking straight at your problem and Autotube is not.

If your channel is losing because production takes all week, the tools swap places. Autotube takes a title through research, a script of up to 45,000 words, narration in the channel's cloned voice, visuals timed to that narration, and a render of up to three hours — in one run, with the credit cost of every step shown before it starts. TubeAI's scripts stop at 15 minutes on Basic and 30 on Pro, and after that you still need a voiceover tool, a visuals tool and an editor.

The two overlap on exactly one thing: deciding what to make next. TubeAI searches a database of 212 million videos and six million channels for outliers and audits your channel against YouTube Analytics. Autotube's ideation reads your own channel's winners and your named competitors' outliers and proposes ten titles. Theirs is broader and better if you are still choosing a niche; ours is narrower and sits inside the tool that then makes the video.

6 differences worth reading about.

A table says "30 minutes". What it cannot say is what a ceiling does to a channel, which plan you would really be on, or where TubeAI is the better buy.

  1. 1

    Where the pipeline stops

Every tool in this category stops somewhere, and the gap between where it stops and a published video is work you will do yourself, every week, for as long as you run the channel. Counting the tools you would still need after buying one is the most useful arithmetic a buyer can do, and almost nobody does it before subscribing.

    TubeAI
TubeAI ends at a script and a thumbnail. Everything before that is strong — outlier search, competitor tracking, a channel audit — and everything after it is yours: narration, visuals, timing, subtitles, rendering, uploading. On their $59.99 Pro plan the script may run to 30 minutes of video.
Autotube ends at a publish-ready file. Research, script, voiceover, timed visuals, subtitles and a single render up to three hours, with nothing to assemble afterwards — and an editor that opens the finished run if you want to add motion graphics or change a cut.

Ours on completeness — and this is the whole of the difference. Theirs is not a shorter pipeline, it is a different one that ends on purpose.

  2. 2

    Knowing what to make next

Production quality is a floor, not a ceiling. A beautifully made video on a topic nobody searches for earns nothing, and the single highest-leverage decision on a faceless channel is which title to make. Whether that decision is informed by a market-wide database or by your own channel's history is a genuine fork rather than a ranking.

    TubeAI
TubeAI searches 212 million or more videos across six million channels for outliers, tracks what competitors are testing in their titles and thumbnails, and audits your channel against YouTube Analytics. That is a scale of market data Autotube does not approach, and it works before you have a channel worth analysing.
Autotube's ideation proposes the next ten titles from your own channel's winners and losers and from your named competitors' outliers — a narrower read, made inside the tool that will then write and produce the video you pick.

Theirs on breadth and on being useful from a standing start; ours on being one click from the thing that makes the video. For a channel with a real catalogue, both readings are worth having.

  3. 3

How long the script can be

A script cap is a runtime cap in different units, since narration runs at roughly a hundred and fifty words a minute regardless of what the tool calls it. The number that matters is not the maximum but whether the maximum accommodates the format you already publish — and whether you have to change plans to fit your own channel.

    TubeAI
15 minutes on Basic at $19.99, 30 minutes on Pro at $59.99, with deep-research scripts on the $199.99 Enterprise tier. So the script length you can write is a function of which plan you are on, and 30 minutes is where the mainstream tiers stop.
Up to 45,000 words on every plan, written to the channel's brief and the target runtime with a research pass in front of it, and no tier that unlocks length.

Ours on ceiling and on where the ceiling sits in the price list. For a fifteen-minute format their entry plan is entirely adequate and much cheaper.

  4. 4

What it costs to run the whole job

Comparing a research tool's price with a production pipeline's price is comparing two different purchases. The comparable figure is the total monthly cost of getting from an idea to an uploaded video, including every tool in the chain, and that total is usually the thing that decides a stack rather than any individual price.

    TubeAI
TubeAI starts at $19.99 a month, with a free plan giving 500 credits a month for research, which makes it very cheap to add to a stack. What it does not replace is the voiceover subscription, the visuals subscription and the editor, because it produces no audio and no video.
Autotube's plans carry the whole chain — research, script, voiceover, visuals, render — on every tier, and the Own Keys plan runs it against your own provider accounts with no per-generation markup at all.

Ours on the total, theirs on the line item. Which matters depends entirely on whether you already own the rest of the chain.

  5. 5

What happens to credits you did not spend

Credit expiry decides whether a plan sized for a busy month is an asset or a recurring write-off, and it is the clause most often skimmed. The interesting cases are the ones where a company treats plan credits and purchased credits differently, because that difference is easy to miss and material.

    TubeAI
TubeAI's help centre is precise, and to their credit they draw the distinction plainly: plan credits reset each billing period and do not roll over, while top-up credits you purchased never expire while the account is active. That is a fairer arrangement than a blanket reset.
Autotube credits, whether granted by a plan or bought as a top-up, roll over while you are subscribed and expire 30 days after the subscription ends. Plan credits roll over where TubeAI's reset; top-ups are the one place theirs is the more generous rule.

Split. Ours on plan credits, which roll over rather than reset. Theirs on purchased top-ups, which never expire while the account is active.

  6. 6

    Trying it without paying

The cost of being wrong about a subscription is part of its price, and a free tier that produces something you can judge is worth more than most feature rows. It converts a guess into an observation before any card is charged.

    TubeAI
TubeAI has a free plan giving 500 credits a month for research, which is enough to see whether its outlier data tells you anything you did not already know. Refunds are for unused credits, at their discretion, within 14 days of purchase.
Autotube has no free plan, which is a straightforward disadvantage here. What it offers instead is that every step’s cost is shown before it runs and credits that roll over while you are subscribed.

Theirs. A free research tier is the cheapest way to answer the question their product exists to answer.

What you gain over TubeAI.

Every line here is a difference against the rows and policies quoted above, not a feature list.

  • Narration, visuals timed to it, subtitles and a rendered file up to three hours long. TubeAI produces a script and a thumbnail and stops, so after buying it you still need a voiceover tool, a visuals tool and an editor.

  • No tier unlocks length. TubeAI writes to 15 minutes on Basic and 30 on Pro, so the script length you can produce there is a function of which plan you are on.

  • Every Autotube plan clones a voice from a sample and narrates in it. TubeAI has no audio features at all, so the channel's voice is a separate subscription.

  • Each channel keeps its own brief, narration voice, script register and visual style, which is what makes a portfolio of channels stay distinct as all of them grow.

  • Autotube credits roll over while you are subscribed and expire 30 days after the subscription ends. TubeAI's plan credits reset each billing period, though purchased top-ups there do not expire.

  • Research, script, voiceover, visuals and render are each priced in credits and the total is shown before anything executes.

  • The Own Keys plan runs the full pipeline against your Google, OpenAI and ElevenLabs accounts. TubeAI's pricing page does not mention bringing your own keys.

Where TubeAI genuinely wins.

We make Autotube, and these are real. If one of them is the thing you need, buy TubeAI — we would rather you read this page once and trust it than switch and regret it.

  • Outlier research at a scale we do not approach

A searchable database of 212 million or more videos across six million channels. Autotube's ideation reads your own channel and a list of competitors you name — useful once you have a catalogue, and no substitute for market-wide search when you are choosing what the channel should be about.

  • Competitor title and thumbnail tracking

TubeAI tracks what competitors are testing in their titles and thumbnails over time. Autotube does not watch anyone's tests, so this is a capability we have nothing equivalent to.

  • A channel audit against YouTube Analytics

TubeAI connects to your analytics and audits the channel against them. Autotube reads a channel's winners for ideation but does not produce an audit of what is going wrong, which is a different and genuinely useful output.

  • A free plan to test all of it

Their free plan gives 500 research credits a month, so the whole research proposition can be evaluated before any money changes hands. Autotube has no free tier at all, on any plan, and that is a real advantage of theirs rather than a technicality.

  • Purchased credits that never expire

Their help centre distinguishes plan credits, which reset, from top-up credits, which do not expire while the account is active. That is a fairer arrangement than most of this category manages and worth crediting.

How this comparison was made.

We make Autotube, so this page is not neutral and does not pretend to be. What it is instead is checkable: every price, cap and policy attributed to another company was read from that company's own pricing or terms page on the date printed beside it, and every link goes to the live source rather than to a screenshot of it.

There are no affiliate links on this site and no sponsored placements, so nothing here is written to earn a commission on where you land, and nothing on this page was paid for by anybody named on it.

Every tool named here carries a stated flaw, ours included, and where another tool is the better answer for the job you actually have, the page says so. A page claiming we win every row would be exactly as useful to you as the ones claiming it about themselves.

There are no scores and no star ratings here, on anyone's product. A number implies a methodology, and a number a company attaches to its own competitor is worth even less than that. What these pages give you instead is what each tool caps, what it charges and what it refuses to do — each of them checkable in one click.

Where the other company's own wording decides something — a credit rule, a cap, a refund policy — this page quotes it rather than paraphrasing it, and prints the page it was quoted from beneath the table. If the thing you need is in their column, buy theirs.

Prices in this category move fast, and the cheapest plan a pricing page advertises is not always the cheapest plan that does the whole job. The plan cards above show every tier either product sells, so you can compare the plan you would actually be on rather than the one the headline quotes.

What we could not verify

Every figure attributed to TubeAI on this page was read from their own pages on 19 September 2026. These are the questions those pages did not answer, left open rather than estimated:

  • — TubeAI's pricing page does not state how many channels or brand profiles a plan covers, so that row is blank on their side rather than filled with an assumption.
  • — We could not establish what a deep-research script costs in their credits, so nothing here converts their plan allowances into a number of scripts. The plan lines above quote their own descriptions.
  • — Their pricing page says nothing about bringing your own API keys. Their product has no audio features at all, which is why the voice-clone row on their side is about the absence of the feature rather than about a plan it sits on.

And the flaw on our side

It makes no Shorts and no vertical video, and its editor is built for adjusting a finished run rather than for craft: no colour grading, no keyframes, no multiplayer. It is one founder's product rather than a company with a support rota, there is no free plan to poke at before you subscribe, and a three-hour render takes real minutes on real hardware — the pipeline is honest about that up front rather than pretending an hour of video is instant.

TubeAI carries its own, stated above: It makes no video. The research is the product and the pipeline ends at a script and a thumbnail, so a second tool still has to do the voiceover, the visuals and the render. Plan credits reset each billing period, though TubeAI's top-up credits you bought do not expire.
