Competitors & outliers

Track the channels you compete with, spot the videos that broke out on them, and keep a swipe file of anything worth stealing.

Competitors are the YouTube channels AutoTube reads to ground its ideas. Each one is attached to a channel of yours, and the videos it publishes feed ideation and outlier detection.

Add competitors

Open Competitors from the Channels menu, or the Competitors section on a channel's own page. Click Add competitor, choose the channel to attach it to, and paste the YouTube channel URL. Add Another Competitor adds more in the same pass. You can also add one while creating a channel — see Channels.

The list shows each competitor's Subs, Videos, Views and Avg views per video, when the channel Joined YouTube and when you Added it. Every column sorts. Pick a channel of yours from the pills at the top, or All channels to see everything at once. The trash icon on a row removes a competitor from that channel.

Outliers

An outlier is a recent competitor video that has clearly outrun the average video on its own channel — a breakout worth reading as a signal rather than a one-off. AutoTube detects them from the view counts it already caches, with no work from you.

Open Ideation and switch to Competitor outliers. Pick one of your channels or All channels; outliers are grouped by the channel they belong to. Click Use on one to open the Use Idea dialog and turn it into a script or a one-shot video, exactly as in Ideation. If the list is empty, you have no competitors saved yet, or none of them has broken out recently.

Swipefile

Swipefile, in the account menu, is the manual counterpart: videos and channels you saved because they were interesting, not because a score found them.

Switch between Videos and Channels, then click Add video or Add channel. Paste the YouTube URL, optionally attach it to one of your channels, and add Notes. From a saved row you can edit the notes, remove it, or promote it with Add as competitor so it starts feeding ideation.
