MCP server & AI skills
Connect Claude or another assistant to AutoTube over MCP, and install the skills that teach it how to run the workflows.
AutoTube runs an MCP server. Connect an AI assistant to it and the assistant can read your channels, projects, competitors and presets, and start real work — scripts, image prompts, whole videos — without you leaving the chat.
Two halves make it useful. MCP is the connection that gives an assistant the tools. Skills are instruction files that teach it how to use them well. Skills alone still read; only MCP lets them act.
Connect an assistant
Open Account & Settings from the account menu and select the MCP tab. There are two ways in.
Claude custom connector needs nothing but the URL shown under Remote MCP server URL:
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Paste the URL and add it.
- Sign in to AutoTube when prompted. No client ID or secret is needed.
Connected clients are listed below with what they can reach — Read-only or Read + video write — when they connected and when they were last used. The trash icon revokes one immediately.
MCP token is for Codex and any other client that does not do OAuth. Click Create token, copy the bearer token, and paste it into that client's configuration. The token is shown once; delete it and create a new one to rotate access.
The four skills
Resources, under Tools, lists the skills. Each card has a Copy prompt button — paste that prompt into your assistant and it fetches and installs the skill itself.

Two of them have prerequisites. Image Prompt Writer needs a project whose voiceover is finished, because AutoTube splits the scenes from the voiceover. Full video creation runs on the channel's saved default presets — Script, Voiceover, Visuals, Render and Description — and fails if any is unset. Set them on the Default Presets tab described in Channels.
Connect the channel to its real YouTube channel too: the assistant then reads YouTube data directly and its suggestions get sharper. See YouTube.
